This is a Guest Post (Tribute) by Mariam Chukwuemeka in honour of my Sister who passed on Tuesday, 6th of December, 2011.
Truly, Death is inevitable
Human being in the morning, Corpse at night
Birth at dawn, Death at dusk
Strong at sunrise, helpless at sunset
Morning begets mid-day, mid-day begets twilight
Twilight turns into mid-night
Reminding us all of Mortality.
Life really is a passing phase
Honestly, we should live every moment like it’s our last
We just don’t know when it happens
These days, you don’t have to be involved in an accident
for death to call or even fall grievously or briefly ill for Death to roar its ugly head.
You could be at home eating, resting, relaxing
You could be in a meeting or a party,
You could even be in your office
Death just calls at any time
Yesterday was Ada,
It can be anybody today or tomorrow.
Death just makes it call,
we mere mortals, answer
leaving behind stories for the living to tell
the living therefore, give way someday for others to tell their stores too.
And so, it goes on and on just like that.
Ada as at this hour yesterday, was alive. I chatted with you in the morning and you were very okay.
We spoke on December 1. 2011. planning the christmas in AWKA
Around 12:30pm, she was still with us
As at 1:30pm on December 6th , 2011, she was gone.
Never to return again….
As unbelievable as it is
Death, however inevitable, has finally struck.
But I’ll cry no more, and so should you (family and friends)
Because, I know Death has not conquered.
Though it tried some years ago and failed, right now,
Death still failed.
Ada my sister, cousin is not gone
She has only moved from Mortality to Immortality
as the Almighty Father has demanded in her last moments on earth with Him.
Its up to us to live the few times we have cherishing
the years with her and at the same time,
living to the glory of God, so that after this life,
we will have every cause to join Him in eternity….Amen.
I love you dearest cousin
LIFE IS BUT TOO SHORT, LIVE EVERY MOMENT LIKE IT IS YOUR VERY LAST. NO ONE KNOWS THE NEXT SECOND, THE NEXT MINUTE NOR THE NEXT HOUR NOT EVEN TOMORROW.
